A while ago we showed you a photo example from the camera of the Redmi 10X Pro, which apparently was well received. Xiaomi has now introduced the smartphone in China. What does the Redmi Note 9 have to do with it? We’ll tell you. According to GizChina and various other sources, the Redmi 10X 4G is the same device as the Redmi Note 9 that Xiaomi will present for the German market today.
Redmi 10X 5G and 10X Pro 5G, however, are completely different smartphones, which both specs and design illustrate. The latter relates to the camera module of the Redmi 10X (Pro), which is somewhat smaller than the Note 9. Xiaomi also opted for a water drop notch on the front instead of a punch hole.
OLED displays for both models
While the Redmi Note 9 comes with an LCD, Xiaomi has given both the Redmi 10X 5G and the 10X Pro 5G an apparently identical AMOLED display. It measures 6.57 inches in diagonal and has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (Full HD +). The maximum brightness is 800 nits, HDR10 support is available. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the display.
The chipset is also identical in the 5G versions of the Redmi 10X (Pro). Xiaomi relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 820 5G, which should play in a similar league as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G (upper middle class). The processor is supported by the standard model with either 6 or 8 GB RAM: The Redmi 10X Pro 5G, on the other hand, is only available with 8 GB RAM. Here are the individual configurations in China including the associated (converted) prices:
6 GB RAM / 64 GB storage space: 205 euros
6 GB / 128 GB storage: 230 euros
8 GB / 128 GB storage: 270 euros
8 GB / 256 GB storage: 308 euros
Colors: blue, violet, gold
Redmi 10X Pro
8 GB RAM / 128 GB storage space: 308 euros
8 GB / 256 GB storage: 333 euros
Colors: blue, violet, gold
As usual, however, the prices cannot be transferred one to one to the German market. It is not yet clear whether – and under what name – the Redmi 10X (Pro) 5G will come to Germany at all. Redmi 10X (Pro) 5G: the camera makes the difference So far so good – but how do Redmi 10x 5G and 10X Pro 5G differ now? Xiaomi uses different cameras. They are structured as follows: Redmi 10X 5G: triple camera 48 MP main lens 8 MP ultra wide angle 2 MP depth sensor Redmi 10X Pro 5G: Quad camera 48 MP main lens 8 MP ultra wide angle 8 MP telephoto (30x digital zoom) 5 MP macro (for close-ups) The front camera also differs: in the standard model it has a resolution of 16 MP, in the Pro version it has 20 MP. The latter also enables fast charging with 33 watts, while the cheaper Redmi 10x 5G “only” charges up to 22.5 watts. The battery capacity is in turn identical with 4520 mAh. Android 10 with MIUI 12 serves as the operating system in both cases. The Chinese release date for the Redmi 10x 5G is June 1, 2020. The Pro model celebrates its premiere in Xiaomi’s home market on June 5.
